I should have gone. I could have gone. But I was too timid.

Now I regret that I did not attend that once-in-a-lifetime event.

I wasn’t expected. No one noticed that I wasn’t there. But it would have given me bragging rights. Is my regret for not going due to selfishness and pride? Probably.

Regrets can immobilize us. Make it hard to move on. Come back to haunt us when we don’t expect it.

It might be an opportunity missed, a good deed left undone, a kind word left unsaid. An invitation refused, or an invitation not extended.

But I can’t live my life with regrets. So I resolve to do better, to not miss the next opportunity, to be sure I invite others.

Jesus said, “My Father’s house has many rooms. If that were not true, would I have told you that I’m going to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:2, GW). He invites us to the greatest event ever–the marriage supper of the Lamb. (See Revelation 19:6-9.)

I’ll be there. Will you come, too?
