I’m wrapping up my series on the Absolute Best Bucket List with three final items.

No matter how old you are, or what resources you have (or don’t have) to pursue your version of happiness, completing the items I’ve identified can be done at any age and at no cost.

As a refresher, here are the items that seem to be most important for a satisfied and fulfilling life:

1. Know your destiny.

2. Invite others to come along.

3. Forgive–leave no unresolved issues.

4. Serve others.

[Tweet “3 final items for Your #BucketList: http://wp.me/p3yZ1g-1Gr”]The final three items I suggest follow logically from these. If you have accomplished the first four, then you will want to pursue these additional goals. And you will gain the power to do so because of your faith in Jesus Christ (Item #1).

5. Invest in eternity. This may involve investing your time, your talents, or your financial resources to advance the cause of Christ. It may involve helping in your local church or it might mean using your writing abilities to glorify Jesus. Perhaps you are fortunate enough to have the means to give generously–over and above a tithe–to help the less fortunate. But even if you don’t, you still have something to offer, some way of serving, that will help build the kingdom.

6. Remember. This item is important because it can affect how you view the rest of your life.  Remember that you were…separated from Christ,…having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:12-13, ESV). Remembering what Christ has done for you provides hope in the midst of life’s circumstances.

7. Look to Heaven. This earth is not our home. “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:20-21, ESV). When we trust Jesus for our present and our future, we come to realize what is important in life. As Christians, we can look forward to spending eternity with Him. Focusing on that should influence how we live every day of our life.

So those are the things that I believe are most important to do between now and the time I die. I’m not successful at all of them every day, but I continue to try, with God’s help.
