I will bless the Lord at all times.Daylight Saving Time is back.

There’s been the usual haters and lovers, of course. Some people don’t like losing an hour of sleep, while others love the extra hour of daylight each evening.

I just want to know, where does the time go? What happened to that “extra hour” we gained last fall?

Psalm 104:19 tells us, “He [God] made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.” This verse reminds me that, as always, God is in control.

But as we get older, it feels like time is passing faster. I get up each morning with goals, accomplish some things, then lose track of time doing something not on my list, and at the end of the day, I wonder where the time went. Now spring is on the way, and I’m not sure what happened to the past year.

The author of Ecclesiastes warned, Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ecclesiastes 5:15-17, ESV).

I wish I could say that I always heed this warning and make the best use of my time. Unfortunately, I don’t. But I’ll keep trying, with God’s help.

And I do know that one of the best things I can do at any time is what David declared: “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1, ESV).

Instead of fussing about “springing ahead” and “falling back,” I want to spend my time praising God for each day that He gives me. Will you join me?
