What’s next on my Bucket List?

Last week, I identified the number one item on what I’m calling the “Absolute Best Bucket List”: Know your destiny.

When you know that your ultimate destiny after this life is heaven because of your faith in Jesus Christ, what else could be important to do before you die?

I have thought of a few others, which is, of course, what makes it a list, not just an item. Most of them have no particular order of importance, but there is one “to do” item that seems to deserve the second-place ranking.[Tweet “What else is important to do before you die?”]

As one saying goes, when a starving person discovers a place to find bread, he will share the information with others who are hungry . In the same way, since I have confidence regarding my eternal destiny, I want to tell those I care about–starting with my family, friends, and readers–so they, too, can know where they’re going.

Jesus told a parable about a rich man and a beggar named Lazarus who both died. The rich man had partied and enjoyed the “good life,” while the beggar had suffered and starved.[Tweet “He begged him to warn his 5 brothers.”]

When the rich man found himself in hell, he saw Lazarus in heaven with Abraham. He begged Abraham to send Lazarus to warn his five brothers so “they will turn to God and change the way they think and act.” (See Luke 16.)

I’ve made this the next item on my bucket list: Invite others to come along.

It’s not popular in today’s culture to talk about salvation through Christ alone, and I often fail, but in my writing and in my life, my goal is to share God’s love so that others can share in the peace of knowing their destiny.

Do you?
